The Edison Concert Band is comprised primarily of freshmen and sophomores who are interested in further developing their abilities on woodwind or brass instruments. A variety of musical styles are studied through the performance of high quality wind band literature. In 2004 and 2005, the band received an overall rating of "Excellent" at the Virginia Band and Orchestra Director's Association District X Band Festival. In 2006, the band received its first "Superior" rating in over 20 years. The Concert Band performs four concerts a year, and membership is by audition or invitation of the director only.
