The Edison Symphonic Winds is the premiere wind and percussion performance group of Thomas Edison High School. Comprised of upper-classmen and select under-classmen, the Symphonic Winds performs the highest quality wind literature available. Many of the student musicians within the band have receive individual honors at the local, regional, state, and national level. The Symphonic Winds perform four or five concerts a year. In addition to various other awards throughout the years, in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 the band received an overall rating of "Superior" at the Virginia Band and Orchestra Director's Association District X Band Festival. Membership in the Edison Symphonic Winds is by audition or invitation of the director only.
